Sutton Mini Beast & Feast Beast 7

These races are part of the annual Sutton Feast Week, now in the 7th year.  Both events were very well organised and the event organiser gave very comprehensive race briefings throughout.  The weather conditions were slight overcast, little windy and stayed warm throughout.  Both races deserved far better support and runners should give them some very serious consideration next year.

MINI BEAST

Approximately 2 miles, starting and finishing in the Brooklands Playing Field, taking both runners and walkers around the village and Sutton Goult.  Samantha Prior represented RRR in this event.

BEAST 7

A multi-terrain course, taking runners along footpaths, roads and farm tracks.  Dry weather ensured mud was kept at bay (unlike last year).  The course was extended this year, bringing the distance nearer 7 miles.  There was a field of 64 runners, where RRR entered 8  and scored exceptionally well.  Michelle Prior and Emma Hostler finished 2nd and 3rd ladies respectively, while Dave Philpot won 1st male in the 45-54 age category and Sandra Butler picked up a spot prize.  One water station was strategically positioned, offering water twice on route, and there were plenty of marshals.  All finishers were presented with a well deserved goody bag, including a T-Shirt.
