Edinburgh Marathon - 25 May 08

Eddie Barrett represented the Ramsey Road Runners in this years Edinburgh Marathon on the 25th May 2008.  The Marathon started in the city under the watchful eye of the Burns Monument in typical dreech Scottish weather.  The course wound its way down to the Portobello Promenade after 5 miles and the welcome of a strong wind whistling in from the Firth of Forth.  This continued for another 13 miles until the turn for home at 18 miles when the sun came out to bathe the runners.  At the finish line the spectators greeted the finishing runners from a Grandstand viewpoint at Musselburgh Racecourse.

This was Eddie’s first Marathon , completing the course in a very respectable 3:31:51.  At the tender age of 40 years and 2 days life has certainly just begun for him.  Well done!
