East Cambs Half
Ramsey Road Runners entered
a team of 10 in the East Cambs Half Marathon, dated Sunday 18th
May 2008. This was a flat scenic
course in and around the outskirts of Soham.
The race started at 11.15 am to ensure no trains were running (no pun
intended) at the railway crossing. The
race attracted 186 runners and the weather remained cloudy with sunny
intervals. A head wind over the
second half did make the going a little tougher, which didn’t stop Simon
Mead gaining a personal best at this distance.
The whole event was very well organised, including the water stops
which appeared at the appropriate interval.
All finishers were presented with a commemorative medal.
